Der bei Galatasaray in Ungnade gefallene Wilfried Zaha soll sich laut der türkischen Tageszeitung „Sabah“ entschieden haben, den Verein zu verlassen. Zahas Manager, der Gespräche mit Interessenten aus Saudi-Arabien geführt habe, stehe zudem in Kontakt mit Teams aus der englischen Premier League. Galatasaray unterzeichnete einen Dreijahresvertrag mit Zaha, der zu Beginn der Saison ablösefrei verpflichtet wurde. In der Meldung wurde betont, dass es ein großes Interesse an dem 31-jährigen Fußballer von saudi-arabischen Mannschaften gibt. Andererseits habe Zahas Spielerberater Kontakt zu englischen Premier-League-Teams aufgenommen, insbesondere zu West Ham United.
